Houston's near north side is an area where historic neighborhoods begin to blend with more suburban parts of town running along the I-610 North corridor between I-45 and US 290. In these neighborhoods, the Heights, Garden Oaks, Oak Forest, Independence Heights, Timbergrove, Lazybrook, Shepherd Forest, and others, lives a population that is very diverse in terms of cultural, social, economic and religious background. At Garden Oaks Baptist Church, you will find people from every walk of life who gather together for the purpose of discovering truth revealed by the God who created us, and building a community of relationships for the purpose of helping each other find the answers to the questions of life.
You can interact with our community by visiting one of our Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 or 11:00 a.m., through our Bible study groups at 9:45, or through one of our home fellowship groups or group Bible studies held at various locations and on different days of the week. You can call 713-864-4447 for information about a group that may be meeting near you.
You'll fit in here, and you'll find people from all over this part of the city who are at different places on their journey of discovering God's purpose for their life. Our church has a 69 year history of building community and caring about the people who live and work around us. Let us give you a handshake, a cup of coffee and a warm welcome.
