Iglesia Bautista Alianza en MarchaIglesia Bautista Alianza en Marcha (IBAM) is a Spanish-speaking church that meets on the second floor of Garden Oaks Baptist Church's educational wing. Todas las reuniones son en el segundo piso del edificio de Garden Oaks Baptist Church. Garden Oaks Home School Cooperative (GOCO) and Garden Oaks Home School Support Group (GOHSSG)Monthly Meetings * Field Trips * Support * Prayer * Friendship * Benevolence * Co-Op * ClassesThis Christian group exists to meet your social and homeschooling needs. We hope every member experiences God’s love...through relationships and resources. Every kind of homeschooler is welcome, whether they are stay-at-home or working, single or married, with one child or many. There are many different learning and teaching styles as well as multiple curriculum choices and we realize each child has unique needs. Your children are important and we want to help you be the best "teacher" for your child. GOCO, the Garden Oaks Home School Cooperative, meets on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and conducts enrichment classes for home school students. Advanced enrollment is required, and a parent is required to attend the cooperative with their children. Our goal at GOHSSG is to strengthen relationships among home schooling families, to support new home schoolers, to provide help and encouragement in the context of a restricted access website, where we can share and receive support through the struggles and joys of homeschooling as well as provide educational opportunities for our children. Here is a list of a few of the things GOHSSG provides: Field Trips, Co-Op, Special Events, Holiday Parties, Classes, Award Presentations, Coffee Clubs, Park Days, Talent Shows and Monthly Meetings. We have our monthly meetings every 4th Tuesday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Library or Fellowship Hall at Garden Oaks Baptist Church. Baptist Mission CentersFor over 45 years, the Baptist Mission Centers have worked to transform the lives of people living in Houston's inner city and the people who come here to serve them. The BMC offers various ministries from its three sites to serve the communities in which it operates. These ministries include the following:
Visit the Baptist Mission Centers online at www.bmchouston.org Serenity RetreatSerenity Retreat for Healing and Spiritual Renewal is a place dedicated to Chirstian prayer and healing for every individual. Serenity Retreat is a weekday ministry that supports local churches by praying for healing. Many churches have healing services, yet some people want or need more in-depth prayer. Serenity is a ministering, loving place that does not exist to replace any church, but rather to supplement the ministry of the local church.
MANNAMinistry Assistance of the Near Northwest Alliance (MANNA) is an interfaith alliance organized in response to the love of God. It is our desire to respect the dignity and of every individual and to offer assistance with humility and compassion. We believe that true religion is best exhibited in caring for the poor, the homeless, the needy, and all who have no access to the abundant resources our society posseses to meet their own basic human needs. MANNA serves as a social service agency for its member congregations--its goal to reach out to those in need in the community. This is accomplished through the operation of an Assistance Office, Food Hotline and Thrift Shop.
